At this month’s Olympic preview GP Final, Nakai won the silver medal as the top Japanese woman. Although her condition dipped right after the event, she has recovered as her fatigue faded. “I’ve been able to build a good wave of momentum. I’m heading into this competition in a similar state to before the GP France, when I was in my best form this season,” she said with a bright expression.
“My position is different from last year. The sense of tension is different too, but beyond overcoming that is the Olympics,” said the 17-year-old.
