World champion figure skater Alysa Liu revealed on social media that she and her team have decided to select new music for her short program for the 2025/26 season.

“As many of you know, I recently debuted my new short program for the 2025/26 season. However, in light of recent news, my team and I have decided to take a different direction that aligns better with my values.

I can’t wait to start brainstorming, and I want to make sure the creative process isn’t rushed. In the meantime, I’ll continue performing with familiar programs,” Liu wrote.

The original program was choreographed to the song “This Is How It Feels” by D4vd (real name David Burke) and Laufey.

On September 17, reports surfaced that the remains of a 15-year-old girl, who had been missing for a year, were discovered in a car belonging to Burke, which had been impounded in Los Angeles. An investigation is currently underway.
