French ice dancers Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron are changing the music for their rhythm dance following concerns over its compliance with ISU rules for the 2025/26 season.
According to L’Equipe, French ice dancers Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron are altering the music for their rhythm dance. Their program was initially choreographed to Depeche Mode’s song “Personal Jesus,” released in 1989. However, the International Skating Union’s (ISU) rules for the 2025/26 season specify that the rhythm dance must feature music from the 1990s.
After performing at the Masters de Patinage tournament in France, a judge from the United States raised concerns with other international judges about whether the duo’s music matched the required theme. Noncompliance with the rhythm dance music theme results in a two-point penalty.
As a result, Fournier Beaudry and Cizeron were forced to withdraw from the Nebelhorn Trophy, a Challenger Series event scheduled to start on September 25. Their next performance is expected to be at the first Grand Prix stage in France from October 17–19.
