Jia Shin (17) who is set to make her senior debut has unveiled the music selections for her new programs for the 2025/2026 season. On July 15, her management agency, All That Sports announced skater’s short program (SP) and free skating (FS) music selections. Here’s a translation of her comments posted on MFocus.

For her short program, Jia Shin has chosen Frédéric Chopin’s “Nocturne No. 20 in C-Sharp Minor (Op. posth),” with choreography designed by Canadian figure skating choreographer Jeffrey Buttle. For her free skate, she will perform to Aram Khachaturian’s ballet suite “Spartacus.” David Wilson, a Canadian choreographer with whom Shin has collaborated several times before, is responsible for the free skate’s choreography.

Shin shared her enthusiasm for the short program:

“I’ve always loved Chopin’s ‘Nocturne No. 20.’ I’ve wanted to use this piece as program music during my career, and now I finally get to showcase it in my senior debut season. It holds deep meaning for me, and I want to express every note with care.”

Regarding her free skating, Shin explained:

“I personally chose the music for my free skate as well. I focused on capturing the intensity of the music through dynamic choreographic and step sequences.” Speaking about her senior debut season, Shin added: “This is my first season on the senior stage, and I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment. I’m filled with excitement and preparing with dedication. I’m continuously refining my techniques, so I hope to receive lots of support this season.”

Jiua Shin will make her senior debut at the CS Cranberry Cup International, the first event of the 2025/26 ISU Challenger Series, held in the United States. Afterward, she will compete at the CS Nebelhorn Trophy, further establishing her position on the senior stage.
