Chaeyeon Kim (19) has unveiled the music selections for her new programs for the 2025/2026 season. On July 15, her management agency, All That Sports announced skater’s short program (SP) and free skating (FS) music selections. Here’s a translation of her comments posted on MFocus.

Chaeyeon Kim, who has cemented her place as a leading figure in women’s figure skating in Korea by winning consecutive gold medals at the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games and the ISU Four Continents Championships, has selected “Qui a le Droit?” (Who Has the Right?) by French artist SANTA for her short program. The choreography is crafted by Canadian ice dance legend and choreographer Shae-Lynn Bourne. For her free skate, Kim chose the original soundtrack of the film Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War, with choreography by Canadian World Champion Jeffrey Buttle.

Speaking about her short program, Kim said: “The song was chosen carefully in collaboration with my choreographer. The lyrics question the complexities of human existence, so conveying such a profound message through expression is not easy, but I want to deliver it effectively through intricate choreography and fine detailing.”

Discussing her free skate set to Taegukgi, Kim explained: “After being deeply moved by this film, I always wanted to incorporate its soundtrack into a program someday. Since this work deals with Korean history, I focused heavily on creating a program that could leave a lasting impact on the audience during this Olympic season.”

Kim added: “This is an Olympic season, so I’m slightly nervous but also incredibly excited. The stakes are higher, and my determination is stronger than ever. Competing at the Olympics has been my dream since I was young, and I am determined to achieve great results.”
