The International Skating Union (ISU) did not allow Russian pairs and ice dance duos to participate in the Olympic qualification. Neutral status was granted only to representatives in singles skating.

Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin were the leading contenders from Russia for the ice dance Olympic qualifiers. They appealed to the incoming president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Kirsty Coventry, requesting that she demand explanations from the ISU regarding their exclusion.

“At this time, ISU will not comment on further processes regarding individual neutral athletes (AIN),” the organization stated.

Additionally, ISU declined to comment on the participation of Russian coaches in the Olympic qualification competition, TASS reported.

I pray that the ISU will reconsider. They are such beautiful talented skaters. They , along with other skaters have worked so hard for long hours to achieve their high level To me they are the best of the best !!!
Do the right thing and let them in !!!!! PLEASE !!!!

While I agree with the decision not to let them skate, I would love to see more transparency from the ISU.

Please let them skate. They have nothing to do with what Putin is doing. They are wonderful, beautiful skaters. They have trained very hard. You’ll be missing out on seeing some of the Best of the Best. I Love watching them. ❤️
