Today, the ISU published the list of figure skaters who have been granted neutral status to participate in the Olympic qualification tournament, which will take place in Beijing this September. The list includes only singles skaters from Russia.

The ISU document states the following:

“The current decision of the ISU Council on the AIN eligibility list is final with regard to all applicants and not subject to appeal. This reflects the exceptional and sensitive nature of the current process and aims to ensure procedural integrity and consistency across all applicants respecting their right to privacy.”

Since one ice dance duo from Belarus (Viktoriya Plaskonnaya / Vladislav Sytsik) was granted neutral status, it means that pair skaters and ice dancers were also considered and included in this document.

This means that there will be no Russian figure skaters competing in pair skating or ice dance at the Games. The ISU document states that the list is final.

According to information from a Russian journalist Vlad Zhukov, Vasilisa Kaganovskaya/Maxim Nekrasov and Aleksandra Boikova/Dmitri Kozlovskii were listed as alternates in ice dance and pairs, respectively, in Russia’s application for neutral status (source: https://t.me/sportrian/53418).

The alternates have yet to receive a response regarding their applications. This leads to the simple conclusion that Anastasia Mishina/Aleksandr Galliamov and Aleksandra Stepanova/Ivan Bukin were not granted neutral status. As a result, the applications for the alternates were not even reviewed.”
