ISU makes decision on Russian athletes’ neutral status applications for participation in the Olympic qualifying competition. Here’s translation of an article posted on Sport Express.
“As reported by Sport Express, the International Skating Union (ISU) has made a decision concerning the applications submitted by Russian figure skaters for participation in the Olympic qualification. An official announcement is expected soon.
According to information from three sources, not all Russian athletes included in the application received a positive response. Two sources suggest that the issue may be related to the application in ice dance.
At the end of last week, the ISU Council held a meeting where, among various topics, the applications of Russian athletes in speed skating, short track, and figure skating were discussed.”
In December, the ISU allowed Russian athletes to participate in the Olympic qualification under neutral status. In February, the Russian Figure Skating Federation and the Russian Skating Union submitted lists of athletes to the ISU who were seeking neutral status (one primary athlete or pair, and one alternate).
The Olympic qualification tournament for figure skating will take place in Beijing from September 17 to 21, 2026.

This is disgusting. Maybe, from now on, political views of the skaters should be evaluated by some committee? Whose voting / supporting Trump, AFD, Le Pen, Edrogan, etc should not be allowed to ISU competitions (?).
