Yuma Kagiyama attended a talk event hosted by the magnetic health product brand “Colantotte” in Nagoya on May 10. Looking ahead to the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, Kagiyama declared “Pursuit” as his theme for the season.
Having won a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2022 during his debut, Kagiyama now aims to compete in his second consecutive Games. The word “pursuit,” which he wrote on a card at the event, reflects his commitment: “I want to keep pursuing my own skating and results,” he shared.
During the event’s Q&A session, Kagiyama revealed part of his pre-competition routine: “Before leaving the hotel, I make sure my room is perfectly clean before departing,” highlighting his attention to detail. He also discussed his mental preparation, saying, “On the bus ride to the venue, I listen to my program music and focus on mental training. I close my eyes, visualize positive images, and strengthen my mindset.”
Kagiyama, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on May 5, also received warm well wishes from fans at the event. “I want to stay healthy and injury-free this year while maintaining my energy. With the Olympics coming up, I’m determined to give it my all,” he said.
