In the interview at the World Team Trophy, Amber Glenn spoke about past season. Here’s a translation of her comments.

“I have truly learned so much. I’ve learned what it takes to bring out my best performance and what is necessary to maintain that level of performance. While there were times when my skating wasn’t great, even those moments became valuable experiences,” said Glenn about past season.

“Everything happened so quickly, and by the time it was over, I was completely exhausted. This season was so intense that I didn’t even have the time to truly reflect on where I stood. I realized that I needed to learn how to identify when it’s time to push myself harder and when it’s time to ease up. This is something I think will carry over into next season,” she added.

Answering a question of how she perceive her own skating, Amber replied: “Just last night, I was talking with my mother about my free skate (at the World Team Trophy). My skating feels more elegant, more internal — it comes from within me. Toward the end, I wasn’t skating with words or structure but truly feeling it from my heart. On the other hand, my short program feels more powerful, with a strong, raw energy.

Over the past few months, I haven’t been in my best condition. But even when I was struggling, I felt incredibly powerful and resilient. Because of that, I think I was able to perform my free skate with more calmness and elegance. That feels like my natural state.

Going forward, I want to work with my coach and choreographers to develop my skating so that even when I’m not in top condition, I can still deliver strong performances. This will help me find the type of skating that’s most suitable for me.”
