At the 2025 Four Continents Championships Haein Lee finish the competition in eighth place with a final score of 183.10. Here’s a translation of her comments posted on MFocus.
In the mixed zone after the free skate, Haein Lee expressed her feelings, saying, “It’s disappointing that I made a mistake on the first jump which was fine in practice, but I’m proud of myself for not giving up and finishing the performance.” She also commented on the penalty for the second triple lutz jump, “There was a rule violation which is regrettable, but now that I am aware, I will practice more to correct these issues.”
As her free program to “Without You” she told, “I originally wanted to skate to ‘Without You,’ and my coach recommended a version of the song without lyrics in the beginning, which led me to prepare this way,” Lee explained. Regarding her new costume worn for the competition, she shared, “The music contains piercing emotions which made the previous costume seem too bright, prompting a change to a darker theme.”
This competition held special significance as it was Haein Lee’s first international event of the season. She mentioned, “It was difficult to land because of an issue with my instep, but I’m happy that I persevered to the end, and seeing the fans and the national flag was truly moving, I’m very grateful.”
As for her participation in the 2025 World Championships, Haein Lee told, “The World Championships will be more important than ever, so I will approach it with a greater sense of responsibility and strive to make many people happy with a good performance.” She recognized the tension experienced during this competition as beneficial, adding, “Having this experience before the World Championships seems very helpful.”
“I may not have achieved the results I wanted in this competition, but I am happy that I didn’t give up until the end,” she resolved, focusing on what her determination will bring on the World Championship stage.
