On her Instagram page Ekaterina Kurakova told about her trainings with Florent Amodio. Before that Polish national champion trained with Angelina Turenko and Lorenzo Magri in Italy and Brian Orser in Canada.
“From the moment I met Florent and Sofia (Sofia Amodio Florent Amodio’s wife and coach in Amodio Academy – ed.), I really feel what a real team is! But in this post I will focus a bit more on Florent because he is the one who is traveling on the competitions with me and my head cockroaches haha.
We work together about half of year and the beginning of the season was some kind of «Hell» of my career. But during this time, I never felt like «I’m a bad skater» or «I’m a bad person». Because I always have support in the person of my coach. He doesn’t try to change me, he tries to help me cope with different problems. Having got to his academy, I fell in love with skating again. I learned to trust the process, even when I had to wait and stay patient for the results of the work. There were days when hope was already dying inside of me, but not in Florent! In those days he made me work even harder for what I’m very grateful.
2025 European Championship was a huge step forward for us. And it showed that we are moving in the right direction. Top 8 is not the result I was dreaming about, but let’s remember (as much as I’m ashamed) that last year I was 25. Step by step I’m getting back into shape. Both physically and mentally. I’m looking forward for the next competition to be better and stronger! Happy to be part of Amodio Academy,” Ekaterina posted on her Instagram.
