Kaori Sakamoto: I am very happy. At the same time, I felt that it took a very long time for this day to come. I believe that we were able to win this silver medal in the team competition thanks to not only the teammates who fought together but also thanks to the many related parties. I would like to express my gratitude by taking advantage of this opportunity. Through this experience, I strongly felt the importance of fairness and integrity in sports. I will continue to cherish sportsmanship and work hard in competitions with all my might, hoping for fair and clean competitions in the future as well.

Wakaba Higuchi: I am sincerely happy that it has finally been decided that we will receive the medal! I also can’t wait to show it to those who have taken care of me and have been supporting me till now.

Yuma Kagiyama: I’m pleased we will receive a medal for the team competition at the Beijing Olympics. The medal that we all won seems to be a good memory.

Shoma Uno: I’m very pleased to receive the Olympic team medal this time. I’m very proud that the entire Japanese figure skating team achieved wonderful results, and I’m also very grateful for setting up such a wonderful medal awarding ceremony.

Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara: We want to share our gratitude and joy with all the athletes, the team, everyone who supported us, and all those who have backed us up. From here onwards, as we face competitive activities in all sincerity, we will endeavor daily towards our next goal.

Misato Komatsubara: I have been longing for it. I’m thrilled from the bottom of my heart. I want to give a real hug to my respected colleagues who worked hard with me during this time, which was impossible during the corona, and I want to congratulate them directly. I hope to spend valuable time delivering a smile and energy to everyone who has supported us.

Tim Koleto: I’m truly happy. My heart is filled with feelings of wanting to congratulate and show appreciation to the colleagues who worked hard together for Japan. During the corona, my family and the people who supported us could not go to watch in Beijing. This time at the Paris Olympics, I want to celebrate together with everyone.

President of the Japanese Figure Skating Federation: Nearly two-and-a-half years have passed since the Beijing Olympics, and it took a long time to get the medal, but I would like to sincerely rejoice this outcome. This silver medal, the first in the team competition for Japan, is proof of the efforts of the athletes who fought hard representing the country, and I would like to once again commend the honor of the athletes.”

A medal awarding ceremony is being arranged to take place in Paris during the summer Olympics in early August.
