Former Russian figure skater Sofia Samodelkina has been representing Kazakhstan since this season. The 17-year-old figure skater today won the Summer Championships in Kazakhstan, scoring 161.43 points for two programs. For her, this competitions marked the first since her change of sports citizenship from Russian to Kazakh.

As it was reported by TASS Samodelkina competed in the Kazakhstan Championships amidst problems with her ankle. She also intends to participate in the stages of the Junior Grand Prix series.

Sofia Samodelkina thanked everyone for their support at the Summer Championships in Kazakhstan.
