Kaori Sakamoto attended the event in Tokyo dedicated to 50 days before the opening of the Paris Olympics. She told about past season and aspirations for the new season. Here’s a translation of her comment.

“For me it was I a really good season, so I was extremely happy to receive special recognition from the JOC (Japanese Olympic Committee. This season, I was undefeated in international competitions, and I had set a goal of winning the Japanese Nationals and the World Championships three times in a row, I was able to achieve that goal, and I’ve really had an unusually good season by my standards. I want to continue to keep focused and work hard for the seasons ahead.

For the off-season, I took some time to refresh and calm both my mind and body, and since May, choreography for the upcoming season has begun. After that, I’ve been building up my practice, so now I’m in a preparation period for the next season.

The next season is the pre-season for the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics. As it’s a season leading up to the Olympics, so it’s important to be in good condition. I hope I can have a season that will give me confidence,” said Kaori Sakamoto
