Niina Petrokina has already chosen music and themes for the new season. After the 2024 World Championships she stayed in Canada to work with choreographer Mark Pillay, with whom she continues to have successful cooperation. Here’s a translation of her comments made for ERR.
“After the World Championships I went to Toronto and was there for a week. We choreographed a short program for me. I really like working with Mark Pillay. He is a real professional and makes every move to the beat of the music. It will be a great program,” Petrokina said.
On her Instagram she revealed the music for her new programs:
short program – “Soldier” by Tommee Profitt, Fleurie
free program – “DUNE” Hans Zimmer
In addition to working on new programs, Petrokina continues the treatment of her left leg fibula, which was broken in December, and strengthening the entire body. “I can say that the leg is much better, but it still shows. I don’t think about it anymore. I go on the ice and don’t think about it at all,” the skater said.
“Of course, I continue to treat my leg so that such troubles don’t happen anymore. I will start doing more physical training, I will work with a physiotherapist, I will go to a strength coach in the gym, there are different camps in the summer,” added Niina.
