Korean skater took 10th place. Here’s a translation of his comment about Worlds posted on mfocus.kr.

In the mixed zone agter the free program Junhqan Cha expressed his disappointment with his performance, saying, “I think today’s competition was honestly a bit disappointing. However, I think there’s a positive in that I managed to complete the season without giving up.” He added, “There were too many mistakes in the middle of the program, but I tried my best until the end.”

Regarding his free program Batman, he said, “Honestly, this season I never felt I was at a 100% condition-wise, or practiced enough to feel satisfied (before a competition), so I am greatly disappointed in whether I executed it properly.”

Junhwan has been suffering from a right ankle and left hip injury since the Pyeongchang Olympic season. His chronic right ankle injury worsened this season. So regarding this season, he said, “This season seemed to be a really hard time. I continued to have injuries and compete without having enough time to recover, but I don’t regret it. I think I got motivated and kept practicing by constantly asking myself questions and thinking about going through them one by one.” He also expressed in a rather optimistic light that this season was a big experience and a good portion when looking at it in the aftermath, saying “This season as a whole can be seen as a failure, but looking back, I think it was a lot of experience. I had a lot of regrets, but I think it would be better to put them behind for now and recover well with what I learned from this season and prepare for the next one.”

Junhwan shared his goals for the off-season, saying, “I had a hard time and I didn’t give up until the end, so I would like to prepare better for the next season by resting well. I will participate in ice shows, and then I think I will prepare for the season by creating a new program.”
