Korean Jia Shin took second place in the women’s event at the Figure Skating Junior World Championships. This marks her third consecutive silver medal at Junior Worlds. Here’s a translation of her comment posted on MFocus.
In a brief interview at the mixed zone before the awards ceremony, Jia Shin commented, “First of all, I feel a bit disappointed about the last spin…”
“I feel very happy because I think I did my best in everything else, even though I feel a bit disappointed about the last spin. I was a bit nervous coming out last, but I tried not to lose my concentration, and I think I did well.”
“It was the last competition of the season, so I feel a bit sad about that. Also, I’m a bit disappointed about the mistake in the last spin,” said Jia answering the question about the fleeting emotions that crossed her mind just before striking her final pose.
“It’s really an honor to win a silver medal in all three Junior World Championships. I had a lot of experiences this year, and I think those new experiences allowed me to achieve good results at this Junior Worlds. While participating in the Youth Olympics this season and experiencing competitions in Korea, I learned that I became stronger. I think this Junior Worlds will be the most memorable competition as I set season bests and personal bests in both the Short Program and Free Skating.”
Jia Shin will take a short break after returning home and then will go to Canada to get new programs.
