Decision about Trophee Eric Bompard is made?
According to rsport.ru the decision about results of Trophee Eric Bompard 2015 has beed already made. The official meeting of ISU is appointed on Tuesday (17, November), but federations already knew what it will be.
Several major figure skating federation took the option of offsetting the Grand-prix event in France on the results of the short program. But they consider it necessary to provide additional opportunities for skaters who worthy Grand Prix Final, but had no objective possibility to skate a free program at Trophee Eric Bompard.
So, they choose the easiest and the cheapest but also the most unfair way to solve this problem. How predictable.
Good news: Cup of Russian, NHK Trophy and Grand-prix Final will be held without changes.
Bad news: the formulation “skaters who worth Grand-prix Final” is too unclear and can be interpreted in different ways.
It’s also interesting what does it mean. How many skaters will get into the Final? Six, or six + some amount of this “worthy GP Final”? And how they will decide who is worthy and who is not? Base on what? Placement at one complete GP event? Total scores? Hope we will know everything on Tuesday.
But I think that with a probability of 99% Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, Patrick Chan, Volosozhar – Trankov anyway will be in Grand-prix final in Barcelona.
