Kamila Valieva: To maintain loyalty to a coach, you just need to believe in them very much. I trust Eteri Georgievna and am immensely grateful for her work.
Q: What makes Tutberidze unique?
Kamila Valieva: She is an absolute workaholic and very demanding. She knows how to set a goal before you in such a way that you want to achieve it.”
Q: How do you find compromises when there are disagreements during the working process?
Kamila Valieva: Like in a family – you need to talk.
Q: If you compare your way of communicating with Tutberidze at the age of 15 and now, has it changed? Have they become more attentive to you?
Kamila Valieva: Of course, the relationship has changed a little, but not radically. Earlier, we only talked about figure skating, now there are other topics, we just started talking more with Eteri Georgievna about various things. But the distance between the coach and the athlete cannot be violated; it must exist. I understand that.
Q: Can Eteri Georgievna admit that she was wrong about something, or is the coach always right?
Kamila Valieva: A difficult question. It is difficult for everyone to admit their mistakes. But honestly, I don’t remember a case where Eteri Georgievna was wrong.
Q: Does she give you advice on life off the ice?
Kamila Valieva: I wouldn’t say that these are life advice. There are just conversations about many things.”
