Figure skating News of the day. Massot and Savchenko will skate in Tallinn
Today I would like to write about figure skating news. I picked up an idea of such digest from ifigureskating.com, who usually post their weekly buzz. I don’t think I will be posting my digests on a daily basis, but today I will do it. So, the news of figure skating that are worth reading today.
Alexander Smirnov and Yuko Kavaguti announced plans for near future
Smirnov in his interview to Russian Figure Skating Federation told that he is contented with their pairs’ recent victory in Cup of China 2015, but they are going to improve their free program, and in particular they will work on quad loop throw. They will be training in Moscow and preparing for the Rostelecom Cup.
Mikhail Kolyada to replace Artur Gachinski in Rostelecom Cup 2015
Gachinski did not fully recover from his latest injury, so Mikhail Kolyada will step in for Moscow ISU Grand Prix event, according to Russian Figure Skating Federation. He will try his best to show decent performance at home and to impress audience, judges and coaches of Team Russia. Rostelecom Cup will be held in Moscow on November 20-22.
Savchenko and Massot will skate in Tallinn
German figure skating pair of Aliona Savchenko and Bruno Massot (who was allowed to skate for Germany in September) is going to take part in Tallinn Trophy. This event will be held in Estonia from November 18 to November 22. The aim of Savchenko and Massot is to earn rating points that would allow them to take part in European Championship 2015 in Bratislava in January 2016. Credits for the info and photo to DPA.
