Here’s a translation of Petr Gumennik’s comments made to RSport.
Petr Gumennik explained under what conditions a quintuple jump can be executed.
“We might see it, but with some clever adjustments. If you take off with half a rotation less and land with the allowable under-rotation, it’s possible.
However, currently, even evaluating a five-rotation jump within the existing rules is challenging,” Gumennik said.
Petr also stated that he hasn’t considered changing his sports citizenship.
“I haven’t thought about it. I hope that the isolation of Russian figure skating will end someday, and we will return as victors.
For now, I will focus on Russian competitions, which are very interesting,” Gumennik said.”
