Evgenia Medvedeva: “Let’s be honest, I can no longer complete the free program, but I don’t aim to participate in the European and World Championships.”
Evgenia Medvedeva about possibility of her return to competitions and self realization.
“There are many offers (after leaving sports). I take on many things as well. Luckily, I have a team that can say, ‘That’s not for you.’ Figure skating is great, but it’s a demanding activity. You can’t continue doing this sport until you’re 70.
There are great people like Alexei Mishin who dedicate their whole lives to figure skating. I would like to be a more versatile person. Figure skating will always remain a part of my life in one way or another!.
There is probably no area in life where I have fully realized myself. There is always something missing.
In this feeling, there are more positive moments because you constantly want to develop and do something new. This feeling doesn’t let you stop, and you always prove things to yourself,” Medvedeva shared
“Let’s be honest, I can no longer complete the free program, but I don’t aim to participate in the European and World Championships,” said the two-time world champion in figure skating during a meeting with fans.
Today, Medvedeva performed an exhibition number at the Moscow sport festival.
“There was too much rest, and I didn’t plan it properly, so I skated today without jumps. My legs forgot what figure skating is.
When you are in sports, if you take a week off, you have to relearn everything. I wanted to rely on my acquired professionalism.”
