Figure skating coach Romain Haguenauer told “Match TV” that his students Olivia Smart and Tim Dieck are preparing programs for the new season.

Earlier, Smart competed for Spain in a pair with Adrian Diaz, who retired after the 2021/22 season. Together, they took 8th place at the Olympics.

Tim Dieck skated in a duet with Russian-speaking skater Katarina Muller and represented Germany. The duo took 12th place at the 2022 European Championships.

“They have been training in our academy for several months now and are set to skate together. Now we are resolving formal issues: Tim must switch to the flag of Spain. We are preparing programs to test them at possible competitions in the new season and receive feedback from specialists,” Haguenauer told “Match TV”.

Also Haguenauer told about the tryouts of figure skater Dario Cirisano with his new partner Denisa Cimlova at the Montreal skating academy.

Cirizsano previously represented Russia with Irina Khavronina, and together they won the Youth Olympic Games. In January 2023, the duo split up. In May, it became known that the Russian skater is training with Czech skater Denisa Cimlova in Montreal. Media also reported that Cirisano will switch to the Czech figure skating federation.

“Dario and Denisa have been skating with us for almost three weeks now. They are not yet students of the academy – it’s still a trial period. The skaters themselves took the initiative, contacted our academy, and now we are looking at each other. I like the skating of Denisa and Dario. They are very hardworking, know a lot, and have prospects. I think everything will work out,” Hagenauer said.
