Junhwan Cha: Usually, World Championships are not the most successful competitions for me—just solid bad memories. Last year I had to withdraw because the hook on the boot broke; can you imagine?
This time, right before arriving in Saitama, I had to urgently change my boots because they broke again. But this is also an experience, now I’m ready for this. So I’m glad that I reversed this trend and skated well today.
But most of all, I am happy today, because now Korea has three spots for the next World Championships. After the Beijing Olympics, I told myself that my goal was to have three spots for the Olympics in Milan in four years. And today is the first step towards this goal.
