Daniel Grassl: Of course, it’s different than what I’m used to. But I am in the process and I am very glad that the results of the work are already visible. And this is only our the second competition together. Of course, I’m already thinking about next season, I’ll train all summer. I will focus on this to be in great shape.
Did it help that Eteri put me on the ice at the World Championships? There was more pressure for me (laughs). I wanted to show her how I fight. It’s really cool that she’s here. I need to get used to it. I was nervous but very happy about it.
Eteri was pleased after my performance. She always treats me well, I really like her, I really like to train under her guidance. This is the most important thing, especially since soon it will be necessary to focus on preparing for the next season. I joined her group in the middle of the season, it was difficult to work because of this.
Is there competition in training with Tutberidze’s girls? Yes, it really helps me. I really like to watch women’s competitions, especially Russian ones. They have a lot of power. I’m impressed with how 12-year-old girls jump quads and do it better than me (laughs). This motivates me. My goal next season is to be better than all of them. It’s hard, but I’ll do my best.
