Team Russia: news about new programs
After the World Team Trophy it’s officially an off season so it’s time to start collecting some news/rumours about new programs.
Here’s a couple of news from Russian team:
1.Bobrova and Soloviev will work with new choreographer for their FD:
To make a free program for Bobrova and Soloviev we invited a very good choreographer Radu Poklitaru, who worked in the project “Bolero” with Ilia Averbukh . Together with Poklitaru we did almost the whole dance. – Zhulin said.
Looking at the name of choreographer, I can say that they decided to keep the “modern” style for their free dance. It’s good that they tried to work with someone else. This pair needs some fresh look. I’ve been to several ballets choreographed by Radu Poklitaru and quite liked it. But I’m not sure it’s right choice for Bobrova and Soloviev. Radu’s choreo is on the edge between great and disaster, you shoud be very careful and try hard to keep the balance. Definitely not the strongest side of Ekaterina and Dmitri. Gilles and Poirier would be the perfect pair to work with this choreographer…..not so sure about the Russians.
2. Zhulin will do the programs for Sinitsina and Katsalapov:
I’m already doing the free program for Sinitsina and Katsalapov, we already have a half of the program. I think I’ll also choreograph the short dance. – Zhulin added
I really hoped that Vika and Nikita had some ideas, that maybe they discussed the future programs with Marina back in the days they were in Canton. Because I afraid that with Bobrova and Soloviev doing their choreo with Radu, Zhulin will give all his creativity for Victoria and Nikita)
3. Maria Sotskova and Stepanova Bukin work with Peter Tchernyshev:

I really hope that Peter will show Maria’s individuality. This girl has grace and beautiful lines, she deserves her own programs not the ones that would look good on Adelina.
Peter will also do programs for Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov:
We will change both programs. Already decided on choreographer, we will work with Peter Tchernyshev. He did a short program for us this season. It turned out well. We chose the direction. We will not talk about this in detail, but the style will be interesting. – Vladimir Morozov said.

A modern FD combined with some of Zhulin’s Vivaldi obsession? Not so sure about that. Hopefully this Radu person comes up with very fresh modern music for Katia and Dima so the program is a success. I’m a sucker for modern dance choreography on ice so I’m curious about this.
Zhulin’s “creativity”…expect Sinitsina and Katsalapov to be skating to Vivaldi. Just expect it.
Peter doing work for Maria sounds like a great plan because he’s done some real masterpieces. I just hope that it’s not another attempt to “make Masha skate like Adelina”. Otherwise Maria will be skating to Carmen and Rondo.
As for Tarasova and Morozov, bless! He did their SP this year and that was good. My one concern would be a program in the style of Kavaguti and Smirnov which is a completely different pair in size and style. But I think this is the right direction and am eager to see what he thinks of. Now if only we knew who is making their costumes!
I hope Peter will bring some class to Tarasova/Morozov’s skating. They really need it.
*please please please Peter* They have the technical, now they just need to be showcased! And i think he knows how to do that.
Can’t wait to see Maria’s and Ekaterina/Dmitri’s new programs!
