Top Russian figure skating pairs announced their music for the future programs. Those pairs don’t have in their arsenal quad twist or quad throw (at least haven’t shown it yet) they claimed that the main advantages are quality of execution of the elements and the component score. Taking this into account I intrigued whether their programs will be good enough. Let’s see what they’ve choose.

Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov

Short program – «Nagada Sang Dhol» by Ram-leela (OST) Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Free program – «Bram Stoker’s Dracula» (OST) by Wojciech Kilar, and «Van Helsing» (OST) by Alan Silvestri for the second part of the program

Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov

Short program – «I Put a Spell On You» (50 Shades of Gray OST) by Annie Lennox
Free program – blues, music by Danny Elfman OST The Unknown Known

Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov

Short program – «Michael Flatley’s Lord of the dance-Warriors» by Ronan Hardiman
Free program – Nocturne, Prelude and Revolutionary Etude by Chopin

Rumour has it that Tarasova and Morozov’s short program looks interesting. They are in great (like for August) physical shape have good speed and ice coverage. Volosozhar and Trankov’s programs look a bit like traditional Russian over drama, and they are not in a good shape. Nothing about Stolbova Klimov’s programs but people who were at the open trainings mentioned their great skating skills and that they’re doing 3-3-2 combination.

Junior Grand-prix is next week. See my priview for junior men and ladies and ice dancers for the first event in Bratislava.
