On March 19th, Japanese single skater Soto Yamamoto graduated from Chukyo University. At the graduation ceremony he answered questions about figure skating. Here’s a translation of his comment.

He was asked about the most memorable competition during his time at university. He responded, “The one that comes to mind is the Grand Prix Final.”

“Being able to win a medal at the Grand Prix Final was a turning point for me, and it was a competition that made me aware of the joy of fighting at the top of the world,” says Yamamoto. After graduation, he plans to continue his activities based at Chukyo University and to keep evolving towards the Olympic Games in two years. ‘I want to keep pushing myself and grow so that I can compete in the Olympics.”
