Joubert faced complaints from parents of skaters at Brian Joubert Poitiers Glace, who had directly reported to the Ministry of Sports regarding alleged violent remarks to his students and behavioral issues. After that Joubert appeared before the disciplinary commission of the French Federation of Ice Sports on November 10, following a request from Gwenaelle Noury, the president of the FFSG.
An initial decision by the disciplinary commission was notified on Friday, November 24, stating that Brian Joubert was ‘suspended from the ice rink for a period of twelve months with a two-year suspended sentence.’ This suspended sentence allowed the coach to continue his activities.
Both parties appealed this decision.
