Russian figure skater Alena Kostornaia, who competes in pairs with Georgi Kunitsa, admitted in an interview with “Match TV” that she misses international competitions but finds Russian competitions more interesting than what is currently happening on the global stage.

Q: Recently, the European Championships took place, and you previously won a gold medal at this event. Do you miss those times?”

Alena Kostornaia: Yes, I miss those times, but I have plenty of opportunities at competitions. Our federation does everything. Sometimes our competitions are more interesting than what is happening abroad in the world of figure skating.

Q: Do you believe that someday you will compete at the European Championships again?”

Alena Kostornaia: Someday it will happen. It doesn’t have to be me. Someday,” said Kostornaia to “Match TV.”
