The figure skater has not competed since November 2021, when she suffered a hip injury at the Grand Prix stage in Japan.
When did you realize that figure skating was your main activity?
Daria Usacheva: Probably when I joined Eteri Georgievna’s (Tutberidze) group. With her, everything is serious and you understand that yourself. Plus, when you realize that your entire childhood was spent on training, your time and nerves, and that of your parents, coaches… This all needs to be developed further, not thrown away somewhere. It already becomes not just a hobby, but a profession, your job. Only professionally, no other way.
