Hungary will not host the 2024 European Figure Skating Championships, according to a statement from the Hungarian National Skating Association (MOKSZ). The competition was planned to be held in Budapest from January 22 to 28, 2024.
“Due to prolonged hostilities in neighboring countries, the impact of the conflict on the economy and energy prices, after lengthy discussions, MOKSZ refuses to organize the 2024 European Figure Skating Championships,” the association said in a statement.
MOKSZ refused the International Skating Union (ISU) due to a lack of sufficient financial resources necessary for the quality organization of the competition.
