Renat Laishev: I always have hope that Davis and Smolkin will continue to represent Russia. They will skate only for our country. I believe in it; otherwise, their life is meaningless at all.
Now much does not depend on us. I believe that they are true Russians, and we respect them for being our Russian guys. I see them in our team. It would be foolish of them to do otherwise.
Davis and Smolkin are in the US due to faint-heartedness. We sent them as our scouts, haha. We sent them for reconnaissance from the Sambo-70 school.
