The International Skating Union (ISU) at a congress in Phuket decided to remove from the figure skating rules a clause that obliged women in ice dance to compete in skirts.

Ice dance was the last discipline of figure skating that retained special requirements for women’s costume. The clause that the athletes’ outfit should not create the effect of excessive nudity remained unchanged.
