“Russian ice dancers Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin will fly to Beijing to compete in the Olympics on February 8.” This was announced to TASS by the Director General of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Alexander Kogan.
The skaters did not fly to China with other Russian athletes and did not participate in the team tournament.
“Alexandra and Ivan will fly to Beijing today, February 8,” Kogan said.
Ice dance competitions at the Olympics will begin on February 12.
Stepanova and Bukin are the reigning champions of Russia. The duo won two silver and three bronze medals at the European Championships. Athletes represent the Alexander Gomelsky Olympic Reserve School and train with Irina Zhuk.
