Alena Kostornaia: It happened at training. I worked on the axel, had a bad fall, and you yourself understand what happened next. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a routine training process. I fell during training. Such things happen, for all athletes in all countries.

The first moment when she said she’s not allowed to comment it was towards the tabloid scribbler. Pretty naturally it is better to say nothing to people who twist every single word you say.
It really sounds like someone told her to explicitely say that. “All athletes from all countries”. Idk. Maybe it’s the ones that didn’t allow her to tell anything at first, probably rusfed is behind all this because it may give a bad reputation to Russia if all their top athletes get injuries from overworking.
Or maybe it’s all just stupid theories, I mean injuries do happen sometimes.
Anyways I hope she’s ok and heals soon.
Well I’m sure she was told to wait until the Federation and the coaches come up to common explanation and story of how it happened. So there wouldn’t be controversy and she wouldn’t say too much.
