Evgenia Medvedeva: Athletes have no impact on this decision anyway. All the more, my opinion cannot influence it, so let ISU decide. That’s how it has been from year to year. The only thing an athlete can do is play according to the established rules. I do not consider it necessary to express my opinion, because it would have no impact. Nothing will change if I say in an interview whether I think this is right or wrong.

About Olympics 2018 and upcoming Olympics 2022

Evgenia Medvedeva: Now I live a completely different life, I don’t have any Vietnamese flashbacks (laughs). I will go to Beijing, it is planned, but not as an athlete, obviously. The coronavirus and the strict measures are a little scary. The Tokyo Olympics were held under anti-covid measures, but the humanity is not used to it. During the Olympic Games, the world stops, watches them. The time seems to pause. Everyone is watching the guys that represent their country. This is very nervous. For many, this is the only chance. Even to me, who is going there as part of the delegation, it is still not entirely clear how it will be.
