Evgeni Plushenko: “I’m for fair judging in sports where the athlete who makes the ultra-c jump in the short program should win”
Evgeni Plushenko supported the world champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva after the short program at the third stahe of Russian Cup in Sochi, where she took third place.
Evgeni Plushenko: Today I want to support my coach Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin and Liza Tuktamysheva, with whom I’ve trained for a long time on the same ice and whom I admire for her longevity in sports, for the complex content of the programs and for her strong-willed character!
Where should have Liza placed today, given the most challenging content of all the participants and the clean skate? Well, definitely not the third, taking into account all her titles and achievements in sports!
But what about the athlete’s belief in justice? Or can we now just skate beautifully, spin very beautifully, close our eyes to mistakes on jumps, not take risks, not jump 3.5 axel and place higher than Liza?
And I will talk about this openly if we want to move figure skating forward and respect the work of athletes and such great coaches as Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin!
I am for fair judging in sports where the athlete who makes the ultra-c jump in the short program should win, since after all this is, first of all a sport of the highest achievements, and not just skating.

Yes, it was not a fair judging in the short. Lisa must have had a much better place than the the third – this was not ok. Personally I was everytime a fighter for the beauty of this sport. And this is with quadruples no more to maintain. B u t- if we want the jumps of the ultra c- and Russia want this in every case, then must them be judged correctly Lisa was the best. Not only Tutberidzes girls can scate and jump. The judges are blind with the faults of these girls. It is a shame and meanwhile boring.
