In an interview with NB Sports, Amber Glenn told that she is taking time to reflect on whether competitive skating remains in her future.
“I realized, oh my gosh, when I was like 19, I was thinking, oh, you know, pretty soon I’m probably going to stop skating and either be like a Pilates teacher or a spin cycle instructor or something, because I loved being active,” Glenn recalled. “I thought that’s my next step. I never would have guessed that I’d stick with this and make it to the Olympics. That just goes to show you never know. Don’t give up on your dreams. Who knows, maybe I will still be some type of fitness instructor in the future.”
Right now, Glenn isn’t ruling out further competitive skating, although she hasn’t made a definitive decision.
“It is definitely something that is in my brain, but it’s hard to make the decision when it still feels like I’m in last season because I’m still doing programs all the time,” she explained. “So as of right now, it’s a decision I will make in the summer, but I definitely don’t think I’m done with figure skating.”
Asked why she’s leaning towards staying in the sport, her response highlighted the love she has for skating:
“I love it so much,” Glenn said. “As long as my body keeps going and is healthy, mentally and physically, I don’t want to stop.”
