“I have questions about Valieva’s performance. But I’ll discuss them with Kamila’s coach, not with journalists. I’m glad she found the strength to go out there, but I would like to see her differently,” Tarasova told “SE.”
“We’re still waiting for her new program to be fully ready. We know she can do everything we’ve seen from her before. Maybe now she can perform all the elements in practice, but competition is a completely different matter.
I want to reach a point where, after her performances, I have nothing to say. Kamila herself, through her programs, should speak for all of us. Today, it was clear she still has things to work on. For example, the speed we saw before wasn’t there.
In any case, these were only the first competitions, so there’s still a lot of hard work ahead. If she wants to return to her previous level, she needs to keep going out and skating,” Tarasova told Sport24.
