Eteri Tutberidze shared her approach to nutrition, emphasizing daily self-control and moderation, and described her eating habits during the Milan Olympics. Here’s a translation of her comment.
In February, Tutberidze attended the Milan Olympics as a member of the Georgian delegation.
“There were delicious cheeses there, and that was enough for me. Of course, there was pasta and pizza – it’s Italy!” said Tutberidze.
The coach also answered whether she restricts her food intake.
“Of course, it’s my body. If it were my rival’s body, I’d gorge myself right away. You take care of yourself and limit yourself every day. Every morning I start by weighing myself, always keeping an eye on how I look. I advise my athletes to do the same every day. When you see your weight daily, it’s easy to control yourself. You can decide whether to eat something or not.
In the morning, I always eat regular cottage cheese. I love it. But I hardly ever eat it at home. And there always has to be some sausage. I don’t eat sweets, because then I immediately want sausage again. When I visit my daughter, she always has chips. I arrive, open a bag, and say, ‘Diana, I’m saving myself.’ But I never buy chips for myself,” Tutberidze added.
