After winning the Estonian national title, Aleksandr Selevko went to the USA to prepare for Europeans in Boston. He is among the top five favorites and hopes to win a medal if he performs well. Here’s a translation of his comments posted on ERR.
“I hope I can show my best skating, and I think if I skate two clean programs, we can say I could take a very good place – maybe even a podium spot. The competition is very tough, and this year the Italian men are very strong,” said the 2024 European silver medalist.
Aleksandr Selevko hopes to earn higher component scores at Europeans than he did at the Grand Prix in Canada in November, where he set a two-program record of 257 points.
“My confidence is a bit better, and I have more speed. My jumps are all fine, and I hope to get higher component marks because we worked hard on the performance aspect. I’m satisfied with all the work done during the preparation period. I’m looking forward to showing my programs at Europeans. I’m in good shape. I hope everything goes well.”
