Russian figure skater Alina Gorbacheva shared her concerns about life in Germany as she prepares for a serious knee surgery, describing her experiences and anxieties during her stay. Here’s a translation of her comments.
Earlier, Gorbacheva suffered a knee injury after stumbling during a warm-up.
Gorbacheva: “Good evening! Let me tell you a bit about my situation. Unfortunately, it’s not so simple. I have a very serious surgery ahead of me after the New Year, so I’ll be spending the holidays in Germany. I’m very anxious and hope everything goes well. Thank you so much for your attention and support,” the 18-year-old skater said in a video on her personal Telegram channel.
Gorbacheva also spoke candidly about her impressions of life in Germany.
Gorbacheva: “Guys, I have something to tell you! We were coming out of the subway and a crowd of drunk Turks was walking toward us. We got so scared! We ran back, made it to the train station, and called a taxi. There are so many Turks and Arabs here. It’s really scary, much scarier than in Moscow.
Also, drugs are allowed in Germany, and there are so many unstable people here. It’s really unsettling,” Gorbacheva shared.
Later she deleted her video message from Telegram.
