Anton Sikharulidze, President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation, shared his optimism regarding the potential return of Russian skaters to international competitions. He referred to ongoing discussions with the International Skating Union (ISU). Here’s a translation of his comments.
“We maintain constant communication with the International Skating Union (ISU). In Beijing, I met with ISU President Kim Jae-youl. His statements and actions clearly reflect an objective perspective on the current situation in figure skating.
The ISU leadership understands the importance of having all the top athletes participate in competitions. Certain steps are even being taken to facilitate the return of Russian skaters to international tournaments.
