“I’ve spoken out against Bach quite often, so I think that’s where I tripped up. But I don’t regret anything. He’s a scoundrel.” Alexander Zhulin has been prohibited from traveling to the Olympic qualifiers with the figure skaters from his group

According to Alexander Zhulin he has been prohibited from traveling to the Olympic qualifier competition with the figure skaters from his group (Aleksandra Stepanova – Ivan Bukin). Here’s a translation of his comment.

The qualification tournament for the 2026 Olympics will take place in Beijing from September 17 to 21. Previously, the International Skating Union announced that Russian athletes will be allowed to participate in the Olympic qualifiers under neutral status, with one representative or pair permitted in each discipline.

“They told me, ‘You won’t be able to go to Beijing for the qualifiers, but you can go to Krasnoyarsk for training camp.’ I hope my skaters will travel to Beijing with my assistant coach — maybe things will work out for him. But in general, a lot of coaches have been barred. They have some kind of commission over there, only five of them, and they decide who can go and who cannot.

Some are barred because they’re [affiliated with] CSKA, others because they’re in Dynamo, someone met with Vladimir Putin, someone appeared at a Shaman concert. I’ve spoken out against [Thomas] Bach (the president of the International Olympic Committee – ed) quite often, so I think that’s where I tripped up. But I don’t regret anything. He’s a scoundrel, and I’m very glad he’s been replaced,” said Zhulin.

Yeah, they’re banning you for speaking out against Bach…… Lol

Lol. Zhulin has no capability for self reflection. Speaking out against Bach is about the least problematic thing he has done. Among a number of things, his comments against homosexuals, his extremely shortsighted view of state sponsored doping, his appearances and comments about Ukraine and the war are what has barred him from attending. He is an extreme bigot. And should be banned from the sport for life.

Riiiight, that must be it: speaking out against a very pro-Russia IOC president. Couldn’t be something else like, oh I don’t know, maybe “Who needs Ukraine, no one is going there in the next ten years. I hope it will be sooner. I hope that it will already be called another country, that’s all,” (https://fs-gossips.com/10275/) , could it?

It’s FAFO season for you buddy, enjoy!
