The Russian Figure Skating Federation (RFSF) has submitted to the ISU a list of candidates to participate in the Olympic selection process. The names of the candidates have not yet been disclosed.
This was announced by the press service of the International Skating Union (ISU).
“The ISU has received applications for Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate as Authorized Neutral Athletes (ANA) in the qualifying competitions for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
In accordance with the conditions outlined by the ISU, the candidates will be subject to a special verification process and a targeted Olympic anti-doping program, conducted by independent experts, to ensure their neutrality according to the terms.
Until the completion of the verification, the ISU will not provide any comments regarding individual athletes,” the ISU statement said.
Tatiana Tarasova commented on the news:
“Yes, of course, there are concerns that the ISU might not choose the strongest skaters from the list. Because after a three-year suspension, we don’t have much trust in them. Of course, there are concerns,” said Tatiana Tarasova.
