“I don’t know why there was no ultra-c. This is strange and very bad. At the Europeans and the Worlds among the best of the best, we should see progress.” Tatiana Tarasova about 2025 European Championships

Tatiana Tarasova characterized the level of the European Championships as not the highest. Here’s a translation of her comments.

“I don’t know why there was no ultra-c. Apparently, they can’t do it in training, so they can’t do it in competitions either. Maybe someone is teaching them, but so far, it’s not at all evident. So overall, the level is not the highest, and it’s higher at the Russian Nationals.

As for Britschgi’s victory, it was well-deserved; he skated his program better than anyone else. He’s perhaps the one I could highlight as having liked. Meanwhile, everyone was falling like they were blown over, each one tumbled. But something special, something breathtaking, I can’t recall,” said Tatiana Tarasova

Tatiana Tarasova negatively assessed the level of the women’s competitions at the European Championships. The victory in women’s singles skating was claimed by Estonia’s Nina Petrokina, silver went to Georgia’s Anastasia Gubanova, and bronze to Belgium’s Nina Pinzarrone.

“Of course, I watched the women’s performances at the European Championships. It should be noted that not a single ultra-c element was performed.

This is strange and very bad. At the European Championships and the World Championships among the best of the best, we should see progress,” said Tarasova.

  1. Ultra-C elements have been in figure skating for awhile, why remove it? It benefits competition

She’s exagerating. It was a lovely competition, I loved to see also the artistic part on the women’s side and not just quads and quads all the time.
I’m super happy of Lukas Britschgi’s victory, 100% deserved !!!
