Amber Glenn shared her emotions after winning the US championships for the second time. Here’s a translation of her comments reported by Sports journalist Maya Bagriantseva.

“I approached this US Nationals not at the peak of my form, so I’m very happy that I was able to perform well. I am proud of the progress I made this season and how strong I have become mentally. Now the main thing is to keep up the pace and skate the remaining competitions of the season just as consistently.

I am a bit worried about my back – I didn’t land very well after a jump at the Grand Prix Final. It’s not an injury, just a bit of rib pain – and I didn’t have time to fully resolve this issue with the doctors before the start of the competitions.

For me, it’s an honor to stand on the podium with Alysa, Sara, and Bradie. They are incredible skaters, we support each other very much and are happy for each other.

Strangely, the internal championship was psychologically harder for me than the international competitions this season. After all, I’ve competed several times at national championships with Bradie and Alysa – and lost to them. What’s more – I wasn’t even able to challenge them. And I needed to gather myself anew, remembering that now I am a competitor to them.

Sara and Alysa delivered incredible free skates – unfortunately, I can’t say the same about myself. Yes, I gathered myself together, did a triple axel, but to be honest, I was sure that it wouldn’t be enough for the win. In Boston, I need to perform better – well, I have something to learn from the girls in terms of mindset” reported Sports correspondent Maya Bagriantseva, quoting Glenn.
