Alexandra Trusova, admitted in Maxim Trankov’s podcast “Free Program” on Channel One that she sometimes feels the urge to return to competitive skating. Here’s a translation of her comment.

In September this year, the 20-year-old athlete participated in the test skates of the Russian national team. The skater had not competed in official tournaments for two years.

Q: How do you thing about your legendary skate at the Olympics now?

Alexandra Trusova: The skate went well, I’ve rewatched it many times. Sometimes I feel sad and rewatch all my performances — from my childhood up to the Olympics, even the recent ones.

Q: Does watching your performances lift your mood?

Alexandra Trusova: On the contrary, it’s nostalgia. In such moments, I need to watch something, to cry.

Q: Or perhaps, you just want to return to competitions?

Alexandra Trusova: Sometimes I do. I can never stop being an athlete. So sometimes I think that I could still compete.”
